A true hybrid

hybrid

I think he said his name was Danny and just have a look at how ‘Danny’ gets around.
This guy explained hybrid technology in a way Toyota could only ever dream of.
Danny has stuck a tiny petrol generator on the back of his bike. The generator is used to charge a battery that drives the bike-

There you go!…Hybrid technology explained in a nut shell.

I found ‘Danny’ outside the 7Eleven. He was taking a breather while his battery was charging.

There are places you can go to purchase wonderful transportation machines. Electric scooters etc. I’ll try to find the names of some and report back.
Three cheers for ‘Danny”, hip hip…hooray hooray hooray!

On ya bike!

bikesI went to a community footy match last weekend. I was so impressed to discover  how many people had CHOSEN to ride their bikes. I salute you all!

I had to stop and take this photograph because all these bikes parked together in one place struck me as, well, sort of unusual. I don’t see it enough. Perhaps I should get out more -I’m not sure!

Bikes are very cool – SAVE THE PLANET AND GET FIT ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

Here is a link to a website that will give you all the info you will ever need about bikes

The Apple Goose Chase

About the link I left on the last post…FORGET IT!!

It’s only for The USA.

So I went to the apple Australia website and do you know what? I’ll call them instead!

I can fully understand why it is that people get so frustrated that they just give up and throw their old stuff away. It’s just so much easier than fighting.

Wish me luck. I’m fighting for all of you.

Boz the Anti-Hero

I wrote a post a while back concerning the FLEXICAR comapany. Have a look at what Boz the anti-hero has gone and done. We’re just so proud of you Boz!
If you’re out there and you happen to see this post why not send me an email. I’d love to have a chat with someone who has little or no respect for anyone other than themselves

Recumbent Bicycle

Found this little beauty parked snugly on the footpath. This recumbent comes complete with storage trailer (if you don’t mind!).

For those of you who have seen something like this but were not quite sure what it was, these machines are known as recumbent bicycles. They are extremely comfortable and incredibly fast.

I’ve ridden one once, but this was on a dirt track. I’d love to get one out on the open road some day… hint, hint!

To own, or not to own?

Have you ever tried to calculate the REAL cost of owning your own car. Whilst it’s obvious some people just could not possibly survive without their own set of wheels, there is an inceasing number of us who are driving less and less. Could it not be possible for a growing number of us to rent a little car when we need one, and then give it back to the poor sods who have to worry about all the cost’s. It just might be worth doing the sums.

If you are at all interested, if you have ever entertained the thought of ditching your car then flexicar might just be the answer.

I like the idea. But then I come from a planet that is 50 years ahead of Earth. When I say that the flexicar just could be the future of inner city driving, I’m sort of talking from experience. Here on earth we continue to live in an ‘ownership is king’ sort of mentality, and this nut, is a hard one to crack!

Do the sums…check them out www.flexicar.com.au

It’s not a harley…but…

I spotted this little gem whilst walking in the street this morning. No it’s not a Harley. It’s better. This my fine fellow humans is the future. What a great way to get around. Check out the saddle bags and the front basket.

This machine is part pedal and part electric motor. The electric motor runs at around 70 watt. That’s less than most light globes. (By the way for more information on what is a watt I’m going to start a JARGON BUSTER section)…stay tuned for this.

It takes around 1 hour to charge the battery from the mains. When you don’t feel like pedaling anymore (like every time you get to a hill for example), don’t panic…let the little electric motor take care of it for you.

So what’s stopping all of us from getting around on these? That is a whole new discussion. One which i’m more than happy to have at some later date.

Truth is, a lot more people are getting around on them however cars still rule big time.

Anyway, just thought you might like to get a taste of things to come. Three cheers to the person who gets around on this little beauty whoever you are. HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

Now that’s what I call modern..

Stumbled across this picture whilst surfing the web. This is a car. Apparently it uses a magnetic field to move. I’ve seen plenty of concept cars in my time but this one takes the cake thus far.
