The population of Bali is now just over 3 million. I’m heading over there to see how much waste
3 million people can make (not to mention the tourists!).
Stay tuned for posts from bali…

I went to a community footy match last weekend. I was so impressed to discover how many people had CHOSEN to ride their bikes. I salute you all!
I had to stop and take this photograph because all these bikes parked together in one place struck me as, well, sort of unusual. I don’t see it enough. Perhaps I should get out more -I’m not sure!
Bikes are very cool - SAVE THE PLANET AND GET FIT ALL AT THE SAME TIME!
Here is a link to a website that will give you all the info you will ever need about bikes

I spotted this bin the other day and have sent JJ Richards (the waste collection company) an email. I asked them three simple questions and now I will wait for a reply. The questions were:
So what does a gorilla and a mobile phone have in common?
Answer: One of the materials used in the manufacture of our mobile phones is mined from the gorillas native jungle home in Africa, and this simply means, habitat destruction.
If we CHOOSE to recycle our old phones then the manufacturers won’t need to mine the jungle. They’ll simply extract the material they need from old phones.
Imagine someone coming over to your home, knocking it over and ripping up the floor to look for some material needed for the manufacture a consumer product. Seriously. This is happening to the gorillas homes in Africa. This is appalling and must be stopped!
It is simple to be responsible with your old mobile phones. All the information you need is right here:

“NEW metallic colours to compliment your kitchen decor”
Saw these garbage bags the other day in the supermarket, and once again, wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. I think they’re from GLAD.
I’m sorry! Anyone who makes a conscious decision to purchase garbage bags to ‘compliment’ their kitchen decor needs help.

For heavens sake. Do we really need a tooth brush fitted with a battery so it can vibrate?
The best way to clean your teeth is by scrubbing them using the correct technique. Ask any dentist.
The decisions we make when shopping for everyday products are important. Unnecessary gimicks are continuously thrust upon us by slick marketing campaigns. C’mon! Be smart! Think before you buy! You’ll save plenty of money, and perhaps even the planet as well.
Who says the individual has no power?

When we place our used milk container (or any container) into our recycling bin can we leave the lid on or should we take the lid off? Is leaving the lid on a pain in the a#&e for the recycling companies? I don’t know the answer but I do know that the lid and the conainer are made from two different plastics.
Stay tuned. I’ll find out…unless of course someone out there knows the answer…

Recently I picked up a plastic bag off the footpath. Sounds a little strange I know but the wasteman understands that his home exists beyond his front door.
It was raining at the time and it suddenly occurred to me that I could actually put the plastic bag to good use.
I keep the bag in the basket on the front of my bike and I use it to cover my seat and keep it dry when the bike is parked uncovered overnight. WOW!
I found some ‘rubbish’ on the street and put it to good use every night.
Now that what I call very WASTEMAN!

A few days ago I posted about this TV.
Have a look what has happened to this TV over the past few days.
It reminds me a little of those nature shows where the hyenas slowly rip at the carcass of the dead deer.
